Andruskevich to receive ORT's Community Achievement Award

SEPTEMBER 12, 2006 - New York -- Thomas A. Andruskevich, president and CEO of chain jewelry retailer Birks & Mayors, has been chosen to receive the American ORT Community Achievement Award. He will accept the honor at Ort's Jewelry Industry Chapter's Annual Tribute Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Marriott Marquis here.

American ORT��an acronym for "organization for rehabilitation through training"��supports a global network of schools and training programs.

Andruskevich has been president and CEO of the Canadian retail jewelry chain Birks since 1996 and of Florida- and Georgia-based chain Mayors since 2005. He is a past president of the U.S. Jewelers Vigilance Committee and has served on the boards of various other trade organizations and charitable causes.
